“The warm hues of these easy-to-grow houseplants pair perfectly with indoor fall decor.
When the landscape drenches itself with fall color, mark the changing season indoors too with a new houseplant or two. There are lots of easy-care houseplants that have an autumnal look, thanks to shades of yellow, orange, and even tinges of rich reds and purples on their foliage. Unlike the maples and oaks changing color outside, these houseplants maintain their flashy hues year-round. The following colorful houseplants will perfectly complement your indoor fall decor.
Arrowhead Vine
Several varieties of easy-to-grow arrowhead vine boast pink- or red-tinged leaves. Two newer ones to look for are ‘Falling Arrows Ruby Reign’, which has eye-catching red veins running through its cream and green leaves; and ‘Falling Arrows Cupid’s Quiver,’ which has bronze-maroon leaves. Arrowhead vines often start out with a more bushy look, then develop vining stems with age.

Light: Medium to bright from an east- or west-facing window
Care Tip: Take care to not overwater. Philodendron prefers to be on the dry side. Water when the top 2 inches of soil is dry.
Pothos
Many varieties of this trailing houseplant sport yellow to chartreuse leaves. Look for ‘Neon Joy.’ It has bright, golden-green leaves with irregular dark green edges. The vibrant color combo lends this pothos delightful energy that will wake up any sleepy tabletop. ‘Neon’ and ‘Lemon Meringue’ are great yellow-green varieties too.

One especially moody option is ‘Obsidian’ with silver-speckled, almost-black leaves. This variety’s leaves have ruffled edges and red undersides for even more intrigue.
Light: Low to medium indirect light from a north- or east-facing window.
Care Tip: With enough light begonia will bloom sporadically. No blooms? Move it to a brighter location but avoid direct sunlight.

Care Tip: Prayer plant grows faster than many houseplants and often needs repotting every two years. Remove the plant from its pot and inspect the roots. If they are tightly wound around the outside of the root ball, it is time to repot.
Nerve Plant
Networks of colorful veins decorate nerve plant’s small leaves. The intricately patterned leaves are available in shades of red, cream, and yellow on a green background. Two autumn-hued varieties are chartreuse and red ‘Primetime’ and burgundy ‘Breaking News’.
